Second Race 8/11/00

This week leading up to the race, the crew chief and driver worked out many details.

Our crew chief worked on the brakes.  They took a beating from the first race.
Shocks needed some work also.  Some of the things the track
officials weren't happy with from the first race were addressed.
Our virgin is no more - -  notice our bumper.

" I would put my life in your hands.  I trust your work Bud,
Now move over and let me check out those brakes."

It's a beautiful thing.

Let's rock.

One of our rivals

" Right this way, Rocket Russ.  First place, ten laps to your right. "

Out in front with lots of staying power .Turns were approached.
Commanded and executed with consistency.  It was a splendid show
of new driver talent.  His fans were proud to see him in the lead.
What fat lady?

That's good old red, white and blue, leading the pack.
The 420 dude car is in the last turn,  'Round that bend is the finish line.
That yellow car has been a little too close to Russ's bumper and he's closing in.

Well, ya know that fat lady?
It ain't over till she sings.
We were in the lead from lap 2, all the way into the final turn.
Love taps from that yellow car to our rear bumper
forced the car into a spin, also putting us into 5th.
The third ones the charm
